A world-leading provider of transport solutions, including trucks and buses for heavy transport applications combined with an extensive product-related service offering. With over 50 000 employees in 100+ countries, Scania’s purpose is to drive the shift towards a sustainable transport system.
As many other global corporations, Scania was facing the challenge of securing a unified brand experience across their digital touchpoints. Together with a holistic focus on maintenance, efficiency, speed, and costs, this resulted in the project Scania Digital Design System aka SDDS.
Kurppa Hosk is Scania's design partner and was assigned the project, where I worked closely with KH and the IXCD team (UX Designers + Developers) at Scania during the first initial 6 months of the project. Together we defined, designed and developed a sustainable and scalable digital design system that should be used in all Scania's digital touchpoints, with exception for apps in vehicles.
The first iteration of SDDS was launched in the end of 2020, and is since then launching updates every second week. SDDS is now the home for Scania Group's digital experiences.
